About Darren

My name is Darren Negraeff – I recently completed an MBA at UBC and I currently live in Vancouver.  I love to read – mostly non-fiction these days, but I have an extensive library of fiction as well.

I’m interested in theory of the mind and cognitive science, how ideas spread through society, behavioural economics, advertising, internet marketing, and the rise of microcredit. I will try to keep to these topics, though wandering is inevitable.

hey darren,
nice site. i’m glad someone else went with wordpress.

i’m also interested in behavioural stuff… specifically with behavioural marketing and how marketers can influence a whole generation to do things differently… this is what i think environmental marketing should be all about (and what i wrote about for my BASD 504 paper).

anyway, i realize that you are the friend i’ve met at least a few times out for drinks here and there. chat with you soon.

Interesting blend of concepts – have you thought about conducting research to examine the correlation between varying psychographic, demographics and the socio economic factors and how they impact one’s propsensity to leverage web 2.0 technologies …. this would be fascinating to understand and serve as a powerful marketing tool … much profiling work has been done but this is the surface level … understanding what people are really thinking as it relates to these decisions would be more interesting – a small weekend project – as we will be launching SOHOspot.com very soon – this may be an opportune time to see how it happens from the ground up …

Darren be sure to “get your spot now” at SOHOspot.com – after all it was in part as a result of your survey that we were able to hone in on our target market
